US Citizenship Test Preparation
The U.S. Citizenship Test is taken by green card holders who are applying for American citizenship and a U.S. passport. The naturalization interview and exam evaluate your knowledge of American history, government, and culture, as well as your English language skills.
At Lingva Pro learning center, we prepare candidates for every aspect of the citizenship test — from civics knowledge to the English reading and writing components — so you can approach your interview with confidence.
Three Major Parts of the Test
Civics (U.S. History and Government)
You will be asked up to 10 questions from a list of 100 possible civics questions covering American history, the Constitution, branches of government, economics, geography, and national symbols. You must answer at least 6 correctly to pass.
Personal Interview
The USCIS officer will ask about your background — your time in America, travel history, residence, employment, tax filings, and moral character. Quick, precise, and honest responses are essential.
English Reading and Writing
You must read one to three sentences aloud in English and write one to three sentences dictated by the officer. This demonstrates your ability to read, write, and understand basic English.
What You Need to Succeed
Success on the citizenship test requires knowledge of American history, government structure, national development, economics, politics, and key cultural facts. You must also be able to respond to personal questions quickly and precisely to avoid misunderstandings.
Many applicants underestimate the English language component. Even if your conversational English is strong, the interview format and civics vocabulary can be challenging without targeted preparation.
Our Citizenship Test Preparation Program
Our experienced staff provides comprehensive preparation that covers both the content knowledge and language skills required for the citizenship exam. We review all 100 civics questions, practice mock interviews, and build your confidence in reading and writing English under test conditions.
